Shoemaker kills his customer after being unable to pay $12 debt

A man is dead after being beaten by a shoemaker, who was angry over an unpaid debt, police in Nigeria said.

Delta State Police has identified the murder suspect as Zakky Muhammed.

According to the initial police investigation, Muhammed fatally beat his customer with a hammer after being unable to pay his outstanding debt. The beating occurred over the weekend after the two were discussing a $12 debt.

Police arrested the shoemaker and he admitted to killing the victim.

Earlier this week, a woman was attacked with a sword because she took $500 from her husband without permission, police in Nigeria said.

Lagos State Police said that police officer Michael Okoli, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking his wife, Felicia.

The incident occurred at the couple’s home, which is located at 4 Abukareem Close, Afromedia Estate. Paramedics who arrived at the scene, treated the woman and transferred her in critical condition to the Gbagada General Hospital.

According to the initial police investigation, Okoli admitted that he got angry after he discovered that his $500 in rent money was missing. The money was kept aside to pay the rent, and when he asked his wife about the missing money she was rude.

He then pulled out a sword and began attacking his wife.
The couple is married for 18 years. They have four children together, two boys and two girls.
