(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested after nurses found that she stuffed poop into her husband’s IV line.

Rose Mary Vogel, 65, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, is facing attempted murder charges after she put feces into the IV line of her husband, trying to end his life.

The woman’s 66-year-old husband was in critical condition while recovering from heart surgery at the Chandler Regional Medical Center.

The woman might have been fed up of caring for her sick husband and tried to end his life.

The man’s emergency alarms went off around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, and a nurse found Vogel holding the IV bag.

The nurse observed a brown liquid inside the bag and immediately pulled the IV from the man’s arm and went to call for help.

When the nurse returned, Vogel was trying to empty the IV bag into a trash can, but they stopped her from doing so.

Subsequent tests on the brown liquid showed that it was fecal matter.

Police found three syringes in Vogel’s purse. One of the syringes was filled with feces, police said.

The man is expected to recover.

His wife faces a charge of attempted murder and abuse of a vulnerable adult.

She was arrested and is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bail.

She was also ordered to stay away from her husband.
