A family is outraged after a British court handed over a 3-year-old Muslim girl to a lesbian couple.
Family member’s of the child said that they offered to take the child.
However, the Harrow council in London, ignored their requests, and handed the child over to the lesbian couple instead.
The child and another sibling, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were taken away from their mother, who was deemed mentally ill.
Before handing over the child to her new family, the judge gave the mother a chance to say goodbye to her daughter.
According to a family member, it was at that time that the mother was told that the lesbian couple had been chosen because there were “no Muslim family available to adopt her.”
This decision sparked a massive protest from the Muslim community.
50 people gathered outside the Harrow civic center, to protest the decision.
The council eventually offered to review the case and asked the family to submit a list of people willing to adopt the child.
