A man was injured after he accidentally shot himself while trying to flee a crime scene.
The incident occurred when Joseph Johnson, 40, of Portland, Oregon, was fleeing the scene of a crime, and as he was trying to hide the gun in the front of his pants, he ended up shooting himself in the testicles.
Johnson had an altercation with his neighbor, Jordan Merrell, 32. The argument became heated, and at one point, Johnson pulled the gun, shot Merrell in the leg and fled.
While running, Johnson put his gun into his pants, but accidentally pulled the trigger and shot himself in the testicles.
An officer saw him fall to the ground while running and discovered the gun.
He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries before being taken to the Multnomah County jail.
He was charged with robbery, assault and possession of a firearm.
Merrell was also taken to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
