Cab driver sexually assaults girl after she did not have enough money to pay her fare

(Scroll down for video) A girl was sexually assaulted by a cab driver after she did not have enough money to pay the fare.

People in Texas, said that they do not feel safe using a taxi after a man with a lengthy criminal record became a taxi driver.

Now, Austin Police said that a yellow cab driver was arrested for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old in his taxi.

According to the affidavit, the teen told yellow cab driver Nelson Egwu, that she did not have enough money to pay the fare. The girl took the taxi at 7:30 p.m. on Bridgepoint Avenue.

During the trip, Egwu stopped in a parking lot and told the girl that he was a former military man and that he had a gun in his car.

He then ordered the victim to perform oral sex on him. He also sexually assaulted her in the back of the cab and then let her go, according to the police.

The victim told police that she was afraid and felt that she had to do what he asked.

Egwu passed background checks performed by the City of Austin, despite having a criminal history, including assault and family violence.

He is currently in the Williamson County Jail on $60,000 bond.
