Man punished for driving fake Mercedes to impress his friends

A man pimped his car so that his family and friends would think that he was rich.

However, his cover was blown by police.

The Chinese man made some changes to his car so it looked like a Mercedes-Benz, in order to appear more successful.

Now, he has not only been fined, but police confiscated the car.

The man, name Zhuo of the Fuzhou, Fujian province, was pulled over by the police for driving without a license plate.

Upon inspection, police found that the car was registered as one type of car, but it looked like a Mercedes.

Zhou told police that he bought an ordinary car, and then pimped it out with the Mercedes emblem and hood ornament.

Zhou allegedly admitted that he pimped his car to look like a Mercedes so that he appears more successful to his family and friends.

Police confiscated his car and his license, and he was fined 1,700 yuan (about $280) for driving without plates and illegally modify his vehicle.
