What was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives turned into a horror for a bride and groom.

The bizarre incident occurred after Lee and Clare True got married in front of a handful of family and friends at the Trowbridge Register Office, in Wiltshire, United Kingdom.

When they were done, the bride and groom picked up Lee True’s children and headed back to the reception at their family home in Bradford, Avon, Wilts.

During their drive to the reception, high winds caused a huge tree to crash down on their Peugeot 206.

The force crushed the roof, broke the windshield, rear window and the airbags deployed.

Miraculously, Lee, 36, and Clara, 40, suffered only minor injuries, while Lee’s two children, James, 7, Charlie, 5, and their dog Tilly, walked away unharmed.

“My first thought was to get my wife and children out, but the doors were jammed,” Lee True said.

“When I finally managed to open it, I just grabbed the children, took them to safety and put them on the side of the road,” he added.

Police and ambulance crews were also called. Fortunately, the couple, who have been together five years, their children and dog are all doing good.

They came late to their own wedding where they shared their story. Thankfully, it had a happy ending.
