Two teenage boys were charged with murdering a prison guard, according to police in Nebraska.
Guy Eagle Elk, 16, and Dylan Cardeilhac, 15, will be tried as adults for the murder of prison guard Amanda Baker, 24.
Police believe that the 16-year-old taught the younger boy how to do a choke hold and Cardeilhac then tried his new skill on the prison guard.
Baker, who was single mother of a six-year-old child, was allegedly assaulted by Cardeilhac after being tricked into entering his cell.
Cardeilhac of Torrington, Wyoming, was charged with first-degree murder and Eagle Elk of Lisco, has been charged with aiding and abetting, according to Scotts Bluff County Attorney Doug Warner.
Prison security video showed Cardeilhac asking Baker to check something on the floor of his cell. He lunged at the guard when she turned her back, according to an arrest affidavit.
Authorities said that the video showed how Baker was strangled over two and a half minutes after entering the cell at 2:00 a.m.
Baker was rushed to a hospital where she later died. Cardeilhac was originally arrested on charges of armed robbery and using a gun in a robbery at a convenience store. Eagle Elk had been jailed for shoplifting.
