Police in Haddon Township arrested Carlos Ruiz, 42, after accusing him of stealing items including a sound system from a home.
Ruiz returned to the victim’s home about thirty minutes later, to take the remote control that he left behind.
When he came back for the remote control, Ruiz was seen on video taking his time to feed the homeowner’s dog.
When the homeowner found that his house has been burglarized, he called police. After reviewing the surveillance video, police arrested the 42-year-old Ruiz.
Ruiz was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Ruiz was found to be a fugitive in an unrelated fraud case in Pennsylvania. He was also wanted by the Camden County sheriffs for failure to pay child support.
He is being held in the Camden County Jail pending an appearance in the Camden County Superior Court.
