(Scroll down for video) A freak accident took the life a young boy and left his family devastated.

The family was having a good time in their backyard.

They had family members over and everyone was relaxed. Suddenly, a horrific accident killed 4-year-old Bralyn Shively. Shively was pushing his uncle in a hammock at their family’s Piedmont, Oklahoma home on Saturday afternoon, when it suddenly broke and fell to the ground.

Shively fell over the hammock and landed on top of his 36-year-old uncle Chris Coates, who was carving wood at the time.

Sadly, the child fell onto the knife and was stabbed to death. Police ruled the death an accident.

A police spokesperson said that there was nothing the family could have done to prevent the tragic accident.
