(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested, charged and convicted of murder after killing a little girl because she was slow at toilet training, prosecutors in Australia said.
Now, the court was urged to sentence the man to life in prison.
The incident began when Warren Ross beat his girlfriend’s two-year-old daughter to death in 2011. Ross was found guilty of murder for killing Tanilla Warrick-Deaves of New South Wales.
The child died from bleeding in the brain due to a head injury. During the trial, the court heard that Ross was trying to toilet train the girl when he deliberately dropped a heavy box of tools on her head, whipped her with an electrical cord and slammed her head into a shower screen.
Adrian Warrick, the father of the girl, said at a sentencing hearing that he felt his heart sink in shock when the police told him that his daughter was dead. Warrick told the court that his daughter was helpless and called for Ross to be imprisoned for life.
