A woman is extremely distraught after she was treated on the wrong breast for breast cancer, a court in Italy has heard.
Now, the woman of Rimini, is suing her local health authority for €800,000 ($1.1 million) after she discovered that she had suffered months of grueling cancer treatment on the wrong breast.

The 40-year-old began chemotherapy and radiation treatment after undergoing surgery for a cancerous tumor in the left breast.

However, it was not until after completing her four months of chemotherapy and undergoing 22 sessions of radiotherapy at a cancer hospital, when she realized a burn on her right breast, which was healthy.

She confronted her doctor, who confirmed her suspicions that she had in fact been treated on the wrong breast.
