Annapolis Police said that two men were arrested on Sunday, in connection with the armed robbery of a pregnant woman in labor.
Devery Kelley, 24, of Annapolis and Cornell Robinson, 44, of Washington, D.C. are in jail, but no charges were filed against them. The authorities were called on Sunday around 4:30 a.m., by a witness who said he saw a man and a pregnant woman being held up at gunpoint on Copeland Street.
The woman went into labor before the robbery. She was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center after the incident. One of the victims told police officers that the suspects fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.
Police followed the vehicle and arrested the two suspects as they tried to flee on foot. During the police pursuit, a weapon had been thrown from the car. It was later recovered by the officers.
