(Scroll down for video) A teacher was fired from her position after she forced a little child to eat food from the garbage, education officials in Canada said.
The Children’s Aid Society began investigating after a substitute teacher at a French Catholic school in Simcoe, Ontario, forced a student to eat food from a garbage can.

Renee Luise Oettershagen was teaching when an 8-year-old threw a banana into the garbage because it was rotten.

The teacher took the banana out of the trash, stripped it and took a piece for herself and forced the student to eat the rest. The teacher said that she was just trying to teach a lesson of good food values and to not waste food.

However, Jordan Stewart said that this was not the first time that the teacher has made her daughter eat food from the trash. She made her daughter eat food provided by the school after it was thrown in the trash because she did not like lettuce.

Oettershagen had been fired. The council said that the teacher’s action did not meet their standards of professionalism.
