Man tells court spirit told him to rape his daughter if he wants his job back

A man who was arrested and charged with raping his daughter told a court that a spirit told him to do so.

42-year-old Pedro Anegbe of Lagos, Nigeria, told a judge that he raped his 15-year-old daughter twice to get a job.

He said that the voice commanded him to rape the girl shortly after he lost his job and was idle at home. Anegbe was charged with two counts of rape for raping his 15-year-old daughter at his home, which is located on Ifelodun Street.

As we reported earlier, a man was arrested and charged with child rape for raping his own daughter, police in Nigeria said. Lagos Police said that when they arrested the man he told them that he raped his daughter because he wanted to be successful.

Police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Pedro Anegbe. He was remanded into the Ikoyi prison after being charged with raping his 15-year-old daughter. According to the initial police investigation, the rape occurred 2:30 p.m., at his home. The defendant, his wife and the victim live together.

The defendant told investigators that he heard a voice instructing him to have sex with his daughter if he wants to succeed in life. Police said that this was not the first time that the suspect slept with his daughter.

The man raped his daughter when she was just 6 years old. His wife caught him, but she did not call police after he promised never to do it again.
