(Scroll down for video) A man is feeling much healthier after going on a strict McDonald’s diet.
John Cisna, 54, of Colo, Iowa, said that he has lost 56 pounds, lowered his cholesterol, and lost a total of 21 inches in his waist and hips area while eating only fast food.
Cisna is in disbelief that he really lost so much weight, but the interest in his story prompted him to write a book about his experience. Cisna also said that he is not bored of the food, but he cannot wait to eat some seafood.
Cisna followed a 2,000 calorie diet, using the recommended daily allowance for carbohydrates, protein, sugar and fat. He also walked 45 minutes each day.
Before he started the diet, the teacher weighed 280 pounds, but now, he is all the way down to 224 pounds. His total cholesterol was reduced from 249 to 190, including a 25 percent decrease in LDL or the bad cholesterol.
Despite concerns that he was eating too much salt, Cisna said his sodium levels and blood pressure are normal. However, experts warned others not to follow Cisna’s diet as it is lacking crucial vitamins and minerals.
