An elderly Flatbush woman is dead after he son beat her with a cane, police in New York said.
Police in Brooklyn, said that the 94-year-old woman died on Monday.
As we reported earlier, a Flatbush area man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after beating his elderly mother to near death with her cane, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that the 64-year-old man said that his 94-year-old mother told him that she wanted to die.
The incident happened in the woman’s apartment on Monday, police said. Mark Farrell attacked his mother, Dorothy, as she slept on a couch at 1814 Burnett Street at 6:30 a.m.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene, treated the woman, who suffered from fractures to her head, face and ribs. Later, she was transported by ambulance to Kings County Hospital, where she died.
Mark Farrell was booked into jail and charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and assault. Police said that the charges will soon be upgraded to murder.
