(Scroll down for video) A family panicked and called police after a fat cat attacked their 7-month-old child, police in Oregon said.
Although the family has a dog the cat scared it away as well.
The incident began when Lux, the 22 pound Himalayan cat, began scratching their child Jesse in the face, a Portland Police spokesperson said. The child’s father, Lee Palmer, kicked the cat in order to get it to back off, but the kick only made the cat angrier.
That is when Lee, his partner Teresa Barker, Jesse and the family dog all hid in the bedroom until police arrived to help. Lee told a police dispatcher that the angry cat is at the door of the bedroom waiting for them to come out.
The angry cat was heard screeching loudly while Lee spoke with police. When police officers arrived at the scene, they used a trap to capture the cat.
Jesse suffered scratches on the face, but was not seriously injured in the incident.
