The leader of the Hatzolah emergency organization in Ukraine, was beaten by a group of anti-Semites on Thursday.
Rabbi Hillel Cohen, president of Ukraine Hatzolah, was attacked and stabbed in the city of Kiev.
Cohen was on his way to a hospital to visit a sick Jewish tourist, who had been hospitalized several weeks ago. As he was near the hospital, Cohen was attacked by two suspects. The incident occurred at 10:00 a.m.
Cohen was beaten and stabbed, and the attackers shouted anti-Jewish epithets including “zhid.” Cohen was slammed to the ground, and his hands and feet were injured.
The suspects also stabbed him in the leg and back. The suspects fled from the scene before police arrived. Cohen managed to get into a taxi, which took him to the hospital.
Police launched an investigation into the attack, but so far, no arrests have been made.
