(Scroll down for video) A pastor is dead after suffering a heart attack while confessing to adultery.

The pastor told church members about his adulterous relationship after his wife forced him to confess.

Bishop Bobby Davis, 72, was a pastor at the Miracle Faith World Outreach Church in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Davis was pressured to make the public confession by his wife Christine. The pastor had admitted his infidelity to his wife before the church service, but she surprised him by calling a church meeting and demanding that he confess the relationship publicly.

Family members became angry and began attacking the pastor. The congregants began shouting at Davis. Then, he collapsed and died from an apparent heart attack.

Some congregants said that they didn’t attack the pastor. “We were screaming ‘we love you. We forgive you,” some church members said. The cause of death is pending and under review, the Medical Examiner’s Office of the State of Connecticut said.

Police are investigating and detectives are interviewing church members.
