A senior terrorist operating in Egypt, is dead after a bomb he was carrying accidentally exploded, the Ansar Beit al-Maqdis terror group said in a statement.
The group that was behind a deadly attack against Israel, said that Tawfiq Mohamed Fareej, was killed last week when a bomb he was transporting with his car exploded. The group was also behind several deadly attacks against Egyptian security forces since the military overthrew President Mohamed Morsi.
Fareej was the commander in chief of the terror group when it killed eight Israelis near the Egyptian border. Fareej also planned attacks on Israel’s gas pipeline.
The group also announced that one of its militants was killed in a shootout with police in Cairo last week. Mohamed al-Sayid al-Toukhi was killed in a shootout with police after they tried to arrest him for his alleged involvement in an attack against a police station in Cairo.
