A Flatbush woman is dead after a man backed his Mercedes Benz luxury car into her, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that the 77-year-old woman was killed on Tuesday, when the man was trying to parallel park his car.
Marlene Baharlias was crossing the street from east to west facing 2060 East 19th at 2:21 p.m., when she was hit by the driver of the 2014 Mercedes Benz. Baharlias, who lived on Avenue L, was pronounced dead at Coney Island Hospital.
The driver remained at the scene. A police spokesperson said that he did not know if Baharlias was hit by the front or rear of the car.
The driver stayed at the scene and was questioned by police. Police do not expect to file charges against the driver of the vehicle.
