A British man who was convicted of molesting a little girl, walked free because he needs to support his family, according to court proceedings in the United Kingdom.

The teacher who abused the 11-year-old girl during religious lessons, told the court that his family depended on him because his wife speaks little English.

During the trial, the court has heard that Suleman Maknojioa, 40, rubbed the legs of the girl several times and placed his hand on her chest in front of her two brothers. Maknojioa told the court that the girl needed to be touched for reassurance.

The abuse lasted about nine months. The girl said that she was too afraid to tell her parents about the attacks. According to the police, the mother overheard her two sons, 13 and 7-years-old, talking about the attacks in the kitchen.

The girl’s father confronted Maknojioa, but he denied all the allegations. Maknojioa, a father of six children, was arrested at his home in Blackburn, Lancashire.
