(Scroll down for video) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to keep killing terrorists after the Israel Defense Forces reported the killing of three Palestinians in the West bank.
“The army will not stop using force against anyone planning attacks against Israel,” Netanyahu said the day after IDF troops killed three Palestinians in a raid.
“Over the weekend, our forces attacked a terrorist who had organized attacks against Israelis, and was also planning attacks against innocent civilians,” Netanyahu told ministers at his weekly cabinet meeting. “Our policy is to attack those who attack us, and they were planning to attack us,” Netanyahu added.
On Saturday, Israeli troops raided the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, in what the army said was a planned operation to catch wanted Hamas militant Hamza Abu Hajia. Abu Hajia, 20, was shot dead by IDF troops in the camp, and two other men were killed.
The other two were identified as Mahmoud Abu Zena, 19, a member of the Islamic Jihad group, and a civilian identified as Yazan Jabarin. Thousands of West Bank Palestinians in Jenin, attended the funerals and called for a general strike to protest the killings.
IDF spokesperson Peter Lerner said that Abu Hajia was a time bomb who was involved in shooting attacks, and was in the advanced stages of plotting more attacks.
