(Scroll down for video) A popular television judge was jailed after being disrespectful to a real family court judge, according to court proceedings in Tennessee.
After spending several hours in jail, Joe Brown has been released on bail from the Criminal Justice Center at 201 Poplar.
The incident began when Brown arrived to Juvenile Court on Monday, and agreed to represent someone pro bono in a child support case. Juvenile Court Judge Harold Horne refused Brown’s request for the case to be dismissed.
Brown then lost control and became verbally abusive, according to the judge. Horne warned Brown to calm down, but he did not.
In the end, Brown was sentenced to five days jail for contempt of court before being removed from the courtroom. Brown’s television show was canceled last year, and he is now running for district attorney in Shelby County against Amy Weirich.
After being released from prison, Brown said that his arrest was dirty politics.
