Two teens were arrested and charged with animal cruelty after they allegedly skinned a dog as part of a Satanic ritual, police in Texas said.

Nacogdoches County Police said that they arrested the two after receiving reports that they tied the dog to a tree, killed it and skinned it.

The two teens also confessed to killing a cat and three kittens. The animals went through a lot of torture, a police spokesperson said.

The suspects were identified as Mark Tyler Ainsworth, 17, of Nacogdoches, and Delaney Walters, 18, of Douglass. Both are being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail without bail.

Investigators who conducted interviews with the two suspects, said that they confessed to killing animals. The investigators also found one of the suspects was in possession of photos and a video of the crimes.

The dog belonged to a family that adopted it when it was abandoned at two months old. The dog was 8 years old at the time of the killing.
