Police in China, pulled over an SUV and were surprised to find that it was being driven by a 9-year-old girl.

Police in Yingkou, Liaoning province, pulled over the white van, which had been driving slowly along Qinghua street.

Police approached the van, and to their surprise, they found a young girl behind the driver’s seat with her parents as passengers. The father, named Tang, told police that he allowed his 9-year-old daughter to drive because he was having “health problems,” and that they were on their way to the hospital.
Apparently, he put his trust in the nine-year-old daughter over that of his wife, who sat in the back seat of the car. “My daughter practiced driving a few times. She is smart and learns fast,” the father told police.

The legal age to apply for a driver’s license in China is 18. The father, who is the owner of the vehicle, could face fines of up to 2,000 yuan (about $325) for allowing her to drive the car.
