(Scroll down for video) Two teenage boys were arrested for the murder of another classmate.
A judge ordered the boys held without bail for at least 10 days, due to the violent nature of the crime, while the investigation is ongoing.
Ivan Mejia, 17, was murdered by two 16-year-old classmates behind the Wylie East High School building. His body was then dumped in a patch of trees in Garland, Texas.
Garland Police were called regarding a suspicious vehicle near Highway 78, west of the Firewheel Mall. When they searched the nearby woods, they saw the two boys. When the teens saw the officers they fled.
Officers then waited near the car until the boys returned. When asked what they were doing in the woods the boys admitted that they were “burying a body.”
Officers searched the area and found the body of Mejia.
Police learned that Mejia was dating the former girlfriend of one of the suspects. They believe that the murder may have been motivated by jealousy over the girl.
Police said that the killing was pre-planned. The alleged perpetrators have not been named because of their age.
