(Scroll down for video) It was a scary moment for a skydiver and a pilot when they got into a freak accident.

Miraculously, the skydiver and pilot escaped with minor injuries following the collision near Tampa, Florida.

The pilot, 87-year-old Shannon Trembley, was performing takeoffs and landings maneuvers at the South Lakeland Airport in Mulberry, when the aircraft became entangled in the ropes of the skydiver’s parachute.

49-year-old skydiver Steve Frost, was seen being thrown up before he fell to the ground. The plane then flipped into an upright position and nose-dived to the ground.

Both Frost and Trembley escaped with minor injuries. Trembley, who is an experienced pilot and has been flying since 1946, was taken to a hospital for observation, while Frost was treated and released.

The National Board of Transportation Safety and the FAA are investigating the accident.
