(Scroll down for video) A wife and mother of two boys is dead after she was run off the road by another car.

Jennifer Lee Wolfe, 35, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died after her van plunged into a pond and she was unable to open her car door.

Her broken hearted husband, James Wolfe, spoke of the desperate call he received from his wife in the last moments before the drowning. Just after midnight, the 35 year old was heading home from a shopping trip at a local Walmart.

That is when another driver cut her off, nearly causing a collision. Wolfe’s car veered onto an embankment and landed in a retention pond, police said.

Wolfe called her husband as her 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan was sinking, and told him that she had been run off the road around 12:30 a.m.

He asked his wife to call 911 so that they can trace her phone to her location. While speaking to his wife, James Wolfe suddenly heard water sounds and the phone went dead.

After an extensive two hour search involving police helicopters, Wolfe was located in the retention pond. Police divers pulled the woman from the water, but it was too late for the paramedics to save her life.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The couple had two sons, 9 and 11-years-old. So far, police have not located the driver of the vehicle who ran Wolfe off the road.
