(Scroll down for video) A couple decided to spend the night in a dumpster together with their dog.

However, it was garbage pickup day and the couple was thrown into the garbage truck.

The two people and their dog of Spokane, Washington, are lucky to be alive after being thrown into a garbage truck early Tuesday morning. It happened around 7:00 a.m. near 2nd Avenue and Sherman.

The garbage truck driver saw boxes flying out of his truck so he pulled over. The driver then heard someone screaming from the back of his truck so he called for help.

When firefighters arrived, they found a man, woman and dog inside the garbage truck. They told rescuers that they had been sleeping in the dumpster and thrown into the garbage truck as the container was being emptied.

The couple was taken to a hospital for observation, but no serious injuries were reported. They only suffered minor injuries.
