(Scroll down for video) A teenager was shot dead by a 55-year-old father, according to police in Texas.

The father was angry when he found Johran McCormick, 17, in his daughter’s bed at 2:30 a.m.

Rather than sending the teen out of the house the man killed him. According to investigators, the 16-year-old girl sneaked McCormick into her bedroom without her father’s knowledge.

Her younger brother went into her room during the night and saw two feet sticking out under his sister’s bed. He then went to tell his father.

The father confronted his daughter and questioned her. The daughter denied knowing McCormick. Assuming that the teen was an intruder the father called 911.

While waiting for police the father and McCormick got into an argument. The father told deputies that the 17-year-old reached for something so the man opened fire. The teenager died at the scene.

Zakia McCormick, the mother of the victim, was stunned by her son’s sudden death. The teenage girl was taken in by police for questioning. She admitted to sneaking the boy into her house.

The investigation is still ongoing, but so far, no charges have been filed.
