(Scroll down for video) A teacher was hospitalized and her student was arrested after she was poisoned.

15-year-old Lucari Nicholas, is known in his class as a prankster, but this time, he took his prank too far.

The Florida student was arrested after he poured hand sanitizer into his teacher’s can of Diet Coke, police said. Nicholas faces a felony charge for allegedly squirting “Germ-X” into the soda, which his female teacher later drank.

Dale Dawson Yount, 69, of the South Walton High School, became physically sick after drinking the poisoned drink and sought medical treatment at a local hospital, according to the report of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

The student had been suspended from school pending an expulsion hearing. Friends maintain that Nicholas intended to prank the teacher and he never meant to hurt her.
