(Scroll down for video) A female police officer was arrested after a woman was handcuffed and sexually abused during a party.
However, the officer told police that she and the woman who filed the complaint, were already intimate before this incident.
Melanie Turner, 33, of Florida, was invited to a birthday party in North Port. She knew the host who was throwing the party for her boyfriend.
Turner, who is a police officer but was off duty at the time, invited her male colleague Ricky Urbina, 44, to the birthday party. Urbina was on duty at the time, and he had his handcuffs with him.
At some point during the party, Urbina handcuffed the host. He and Turner took the host to a bedroom upstairs.
The host later told police that she thought it was being done as a joke and that they would soon release her. However, once in the bedroom, the female officer kissed her and sexually battered her.
The woman later called police and reported the incident.
Both were questioned, and they told police that the incident was consensual.
The officers believed that the host was afraid of what her boyfriend would say about the incident if he found out, causing her to file a complaint.
Urbina took a lie detector test over his claims that the incident was consensual and he passed. However, on a later date, when officer told him that they are coming to arrest him, Urbina shot himself dead before police arrived.
Turner turned herself in. Her attorney, Eric Reisinger, said that she and the alleged victim had a prior relationship, and everything that happened that night was consensual.
She has been charged with sexual battery and kidnapping, and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
