A man was arrested after his car got stuck on the front lawn of a Chicago, Illinois, police station.
47-year-old Eyal Alima, has been charged with drunk driving after getting his car stuck on the grass in front of the police station.
Police said that Alima was headed to the Northbrook Police Department at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, with his 14-year-old son to report threatening phone calls he had received.
However, his car got stuck on the front lawn after missing the turn for a public parking lot.
Police recorded his blood alcohol level above the legal limit for driving. Alima insisted that it was all just a “misunderstanding.”
According to police, Alima was looking for a public parking spot, but got lost and went to the parking section for employees. While trying to make a turn, the drunk man drove onto the lawn.
The car got stuck because the grass was saturated with melted snow. Alima however, maintains that he was not drunk, suggesting the breathalyzer was broken.
“If I really was drunk, why would I go to the police?” Alima said. He admitted that he had two beers about two hours before he got behind the wheel.
Alima was charged with drunk driving and was released after posting $1,000 bail.
