(Scroll down for video) Having “the stinkiest sneakers” is a title not too many people would be proud to carry.

However, 12-year-old Jordan Armstrong of Las Cruces, New Mexico, is proud to be the winner of that title.

New York is filled with a lot of different smells, but for the first time in its history, the city had the honor of hosting the Annual Odor-Eaters National Rotten Sneaker Contest.

The contest attracts kids from all over the United States, who have bad smelling and worn-out sneakers. Seven finalists were chosen to present their very bad smelling shoes to a panel of judges.

The kids were between 5 and 14 years old. They met at the “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” Museum in Times Square. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Is a franchise founded by Robert Ripley, which holds many bizarre events.

Armstrong said that she used her award winning sneakers for the past two years. She wore them to school while playing sports and even to bed. She hopes to continue wearing them until they no longer fit.

After smelling all the disgusting sneakers, the judges choose the 12 year old as the winner. In addition to her title, Armstrong received a cash prize of $2,500.
