(Scroll down for video) A man who was dubbed Britain’s most tattooed man, is having all his tattoos removed.
However, he is doing so in order to be able to replace them with new ones.
Matthew Whelan, 34, of Birmingham, who is known as the “King of Inkland,” has spent almost $50,000 to cover his entire body in ink, including his eyeballs.
Now, he spending another $10,000 to remove them all. Whelan is willing to undergo the painful process of laser removal because he sees himself as a “human art gallery” that needs to evolve.
The 34 year old said that over the past two months, he has undergone 6 sessions to have some of his tattoos removed via the laser removal procedure, which is painful and lengthy.
So far, he has removed tattoos from his arm, hand, and shin. His body has blisters as a result of the procedures, but when it heals, he will be able to have new tattoos done.
