A restaurant owner said he was shocked when a man decided to pay for his meal 70 years late.
The Salt Lake City, Utah, restaurant received the payment this week.
It all started when a woman entered Lamb’s Grill, which is located on Main Street.
Waitress Jasmine Back said that the woman looked like she was on a mission. Back approached the woman, who then explained that her father had committed a crime many years ago.
“In 1941, my father was 10 years old, when he and his friend ate her. However, they both fled when they realized they could not pay the bill. It was only a dollar,” the woman said.
Then the woman gave her a $5 bill as an apology from the man who was apparently being tormented by guilt for decades. The current owner of the restaurant, Francis Liong, said that the five dollars does not belong to him. It belongs to the previous owners.
Liong wants the man to know that all is forgiven. He is welcomed to come back.
