(Scroll down for video) A young girl is dead after being shot by her 2-year-old brother, police in Pennsylvania said.
Philadelphia Police said that the boy shot and killed his 11-year-old sister while they were playing with a gun inside their house on Saturday morning.
Jamara Stevens was fatally shot with the gun that was brought home that day by her mother’s boyfriend.
The mother was at the home, which is located at 3820 Wallace Street, with her four children in a master bedroom at the time of the shooting. The 2-year-old pointed the gun at the direction of his sister and the gun discharged, according to a police investigation.
The bullet hit the Jamara’s shoulder and then it traveled to her chest. Jamara was rushed to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, but died about half an hour later.
The mother’s boyfriend, who had brought the gun into the house, hid it on top of a refrigerator. No charges have been filed.
