A woman was arrested, charged and convicted of attempted robbery after attempting to rob two ultra-Orthodox Jewish women outside the Monticello Walmart, prosecutors in New York said.
Now, the Rock Hill woman, who attempted to rob the two women walking with their children, was sentenced to two years in prison.
Amber Irelan, 23, also received five years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty in December to second-degree attempted robbery. Police arrested Irelan and Patricia Flanagan after they committed the crime.
The two victims told police that they were walking along Anawana Lake Road the day before the arrest of Irelan and Flanagan, when one of them felt a pat on the back and a tug on her purse.
The women escaped and gave police a description of a car in which Irelan and Flanagan fled.
