(Scroll down for video) A man was ordered to compensate his coworker for peeing into a cup of coffee, according to court proceedings in Virginia.
The jury has ordered the 53-year-old man to pay $5,001 to his former co-worker after he admitted to pouring urine into the coffee.
James Carroll Butler peed into the coffee of Michael Utz when both were working at a wastewater treatment plant. The jury found that Butler, who had worked at the plant for 17 years before leaving, had bad personal will and hatred towards Utz.
When the contaminated coffee was tested, laboratory results revealed that the strange brew contained urine and feces. The victim had been seeking $378,000 in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages.
Butler said that he is deeply sorry for acting childish. Butler has also been sentenced to serve one year in jail.
