(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after throwing a bomb into a Borough Park store, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that they have arrested the man who on early Wednesday morning, set an employee behind the counter on fire.
According to video of the incident, the suspect used a Molotov cocktail to ignite the victim and the store. After being questioned by police, 35-year-old Charles Diaz was arrested on charges of attempted murder, assault, arson and criminal possession of a weapon.
As we reported yesterday, police are looking to arrest and charge a man with assault after he was seen on video throwing a bomb into a Borough Park store, police in New York said. According to the initial police investigation, the suspect had a discussion with the employee inside the store, which is located at 3901 Fort Hamilton Parkway, early Wednesday.
The employee said that the suspect became angry when the employee refused to lend him beer and cigarettes. About an hour later, the man returned to the store wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses, threw a bottle into the business and then fled.
The hair and shirt of the 34-year-old store clerk caught fire. Luckily, a coworker grabbed buckets of water and douse the flames. Police said that the victim suffered minor injuries, and the store did not suffer serious damage.
