(Scroll down for video) A large ape was seen on video doing the unthinkable, a video uploaded to YouTube showed.

The video, which was uploaded by the BBC, showed how Kanzi loves cooking with fire.

The ape even learned how to build a fire on its own. One of the most remarkable moments on the video focused on the skills of Kanzi using matches to ignite the fire.

In the clip, the bonobo is seen breaking large branches and twigs, stacking them loosely in a pile, opening a matchbox, selecting one match, striking the match on the box and setting the twigs on fire.

The ape then carefully puts a marshmallow on a stick and places it on the fire for a quick roast. When the marshmallow is perfectly roasted the ape eats it.

According to reports, Kanzi has learned to communicate with humans using symbols. Bonobos, one of the closest relatives of humans, are classified as endangered species.
