A man is behind bars after his wife donated a DVD that contained child porn images to charity, police in the United Kingdom said.

Lincoln Police said that 52-year-old Mark Rooks, was arrested after the chilling DVD ended up in a pile of books his wife gave to the charity shop.

The child porn DVD was discovered after a customer bought nine DVDs for 1 pound each, and was horrified to discover the child porn images. Police were able to locate Rooks when they discovered that he unwittingly had included his passport details on one of the DVDs.

The customer told police that when he opened the first DVD he discovered that it had the passport number of the accused and a number of adult porn photos. The customer then watched the other DVDs and one contained a number of child porn photos.

When officers raided Rooks’ house they found thousands of images of child pornography stored on a USB memory stick. Rooks admitted that he had been seeing images of child porn over the last 10 years.

He admitted to possessing 13,969 indecent images of children. He also admitted five charges of making indecent images by downloading them from the Internet, and he received an eight month jail sentence.

Rooks’ wife has since filed for a divorce.
