(Scroll down for video) A woman is facing jail time after admitting to killing an innocent dog by throwing it into traffic after she had a dispute over a parking space, prosecutors in New Jersey said.
Haniyyah Barnes pleaded guilty to causing the death of 2-year-old Honey Bey.
Barnes, 27, of Newark, acknowledged that during the dispute over the parking space she broke into her neighbor’s house, grabbed the dog by the neck and threw it into traffic. It was struck by a vehicle and died.
Prosecutors are demanding that Barnes spend at least six years in jail. Barnes pleaded guilty to charges of robbery, theft and animal cruelty.
Barnes will also be ordered to pay $2,600 in restitution to the victim, and she will be prohibited from owning, buying or living with animals for 10 years. Barnes will also be forced to participate in anger management, drug and alcohol counseling.
