Sarasota County Police said that the man, who is under investigation on 19 counts of scheming to defraud, did not help his cause on Monday, when he threw the bucket of urine at the building inspector.
Craig Siegel is accused of spraying the code enforcement officer while he was investigating the rental property owner for advertising a five bedroom home as a twelve bedroom house. When tenants were showed the house they found it was short of seven bedrooms.
Siegel refused to return their money and told them to sue him, netting himself more than $53,000 in the process. He told the tenants that he has no money to give them.
He defrauded more than nineteen people across the country, police said. Siegel has been charged with criminal damage and assaulting an officer, in addition to the fraud charges.
