(Scroll down for video) KFC staff members were involved in a bizarre incident in which a 13 year old was prohibited from buying chicken without the supervision of an adult.
The incident occurred at the Manchester, England, KFC.
Employees claimed that the customer was too young and will just mess around with the food. Jake Butterworth was picking up dinner for him and his 8-year-old brother Wade, at the request of his father, who was late for work.
Butterworth approached the counter to place his order, but was rejected by staff, who said he would throw away the food and needed to be eighteen years old to purchase chicken.
“I was in shock. I just wanted a Mega Box, and they would not let me buy,” Butterworth said. His father was furious and KFC apologized, citing previous cases in which the staff had to deal with antisocial behavior with young clients.
They have offered the family a free meal as part of their apology.
