Two thugs called a prosecutor and asked for a meeting, only to kidnap and beat him.
The prosecutor in South Africa, had no idea what awaited him when two men, who pretended to be police officers, called him one morning.
The caller asked him to meet them in the Mofolo Village, in Soweto, to sign documents for bail. As he drove there, the man called again suggesting that they meet in the Protea Magistrate’s Court. The unsuspecting prosecutor agreed.
When he reached the courthouse, the two thugs, who are said to be 29 or 30 years old, kidnapped him. They tied him up and drove him to the Mofolo Village.
There they beat him up, and later dumped him in a field while he was still tied up.
A police patrol unit found the prosecutor bleeding and called an ambulance. He was airlifted to Milpark Hospital in Parktown West, Johannesburg.
Police began a search for the suspects. Hours later, the two were found driving the prosecutor’s car. Captain Mpande Khoza of Moroka Police, confirmed that the two thugs were arrested.
The two men were charged with kidnapping and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
