(Scroll down for video) A man learned that not all older men are easy targets.

23-year-old Darnell Jones, was arrested after he tried to rob an older man.

The 72-year-old Army veteran of Michigan, was not going to lose his wallet to a young thief. Chet Dunham said that he had just finished breakfast in suburban Detroit, and while he was walking home he felt someone reaching into his pocket.

Dunham turned around, swung his cane and hit the thief. The 23-year-old man, who is 5-foot-10 inches tall, got scared as he did not expect the old man to fight back.

Jones, who weighs about 275 pounds, backed away while telling the older man that he was just kidding. However, the old man would not have it.

Dunham walked into a nearby bank and asked the teller to call police. Officers located Jones and he was arrested.

Security cameras showed Jones roaming the area for about 20 minutes, waiting for the perfect target. Seeing the elderly man walking slowly due to his back and knee pain, Jones thought he found his perfect target. He was wrong.
