(Scroll down for video) A teenage girl is in trouble after she pretended to be a terrorist from Afghanistan.

The girl told American Airlines that she was a member of al Qaeda and she was planning to “do something really big.”

The 14-year-old girl of the Netherlands, was arrested in Rotterdam on Monday, after she threatened to harm American Airlines.

The girl, who goes by the name Sarah, sent the alarming message via Twitter over the weekend.

American Airlines took the matter very seriously. They responded to the tweet by saying: “Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI.”

That is when Sarah realized the seriousness of what she has done and began panicking.

American Airlines also issued a statement, saying that “the safety of our passengers and crew is our number one priority . We take security issues very seriously and work with the authorities on a case by case basis.”

Sarah quickly recanted, saying she was a white 14-year-old girl, who made up the whole thing.

Sarah attempted to prove that the whole thing was a joke, but when she failed to convince American Airlines about her intentions, she wrote: “I’m so sorry, I’m scared now, I was joking and it was my friend not me, take her IP address not mine.”

She then spent hours on Twitter trying to explain and apologize for the tweet.

“I’m just a girl, please, I have no bad thoughts and also I’m a white girl,” she wrote in one of her tweets.

All her pleadings did not help and she was arrested for making terroristic threats.
